Introduction
Why hello once again, fellow adventurers! Blaziker is back once again to provide you an update of what I’ve been doing for the past few weeks! Given that there was not much action in the animation world, I am taking a break from blogging for a while. Instead, I took some time getting used to my secondment period as a tax agent in my firm’s taxation department. However, there was also another event that I had been looking forward to since my lifetime.
I attended my very first motorsport event at the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix! Here was how it went down:
Saturday, 1 Oct 2022
After the end of another work week, it was finally time to get to the track. I had been waiting ages to be able to afford tickets to this event, which has now been extended to 2028. While there is a race that day, it is typically qualifying day for Formula 1 and the W Series, so there is not much action on that day.
However, we did get one race and that was the Thailand Super Series! Supercars get their brief moment in the spotlight!
While it was overcast at first, the weather began to worsen. Take a look at the clouds of the Singapore skyline for proof of what was about to come…
In fact, moments later, it was raining so heavily that it affected the qualifying session for the W Series (the all-female racing championship). Here was the view from the rooftop garden of the Esplanade:
With the rain getting worse and worse, it was about time to head to my seat at the Bay Grandstand (also known as the Marina Bay Floating Platform), which will be demolished next year to give way for its permanent replacement (NS Square). However, like everyone else, I tucked into the ground level to shelter from the storm…
However, the rain finally stopped after some time, and I was finally back in my seat for Saturday’s qualifying session. Here is the view when the rain stopped:
After a quick dinner, it was time to head back to the Bay Grandstand for the qualifying session, but nothing is complete with some merchandise, so here’s me with a Red Bull cap, watching the qualifying session unfolding:
After qualifying is over, it is time to walk on the track, and a great way to make my way home! Oh, and I did catch up with Westlife performing at the Padang, but I did not stay for too long…
Sunday, 2 Oct 2022
The next day is race day, and unlike the previous day, I got access to the heat of the action at Zones 1 and 2.
As a result, I also gained access to the start/finish straight, so enjoy the views of the start/finish straight, as well as nearby amenities!
However, just as things were looking up, the heavens opened, and it began raining heavily for 30 or so minutes. Unfortunately, due to no sheltering in the standing platforms, everyone became soaked from the rain. This was me after the rain had stopped:
However, after an hour delay, the race can finally began and… as what I will encounter, it was a dream come true watching a motorsport race live, 15 years after I watched my very first movie in a theatre, Pixar’s Cars.
But of course, the race would not end without some proper fireworks to celebrate Formula 1 returning to Singapore after three years! A greeat end to my first ever race event attended!
Blog Update
With that out of the way, what about the Blog of Blaziker? What about the posts for the remainder of the season?
Well, currently, I am watching Netflix’s Entergalactic. The reason is that I am sick, and I am recovering from home, so I need to make the most amount of time to enjoy and recover from my illness at home quickly. Besides that movie, here are other remaining animated movies of the year with confirmed 2022 release dates (based on the Singapore release dates):
- Wendell and Wild (Netflix, 21 October)
- My Father’s Dragon (Netflix, 11 November)
- Strange World (In theatres, 24 November)
- Scrooge: A Christmas Carol (Netflix, 2 December)
- Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (In theatres, 8 December)
- Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (Netflix, 9 December)
There are also other animated movies that may come out in 2022, and they include:
- Deep Sea (From Tian Xiaopeng, the director of Monkey King: Hero is Back, with a 2022 release date in China so far)
- Ember (the new Sergio Pablos animated movie)
- Suzume no Tojimari (the new Makoto Shinkai movie, with a 2023 international release date, although it will come out in Japan on 11 November)
- That Christmas (from DNEG and Locksmith Animation, the studio who did Ron’s Gone Wrong)
Do note that this is not the final list of the remaining animated movies for the year since, as always, there may be some last-minute announcements on certain animated movies, particularly the smaller animated movies, that may arrive either in theatres or in any streaming service, so stay tuned for them as well.
Conclusion (And A Special Announcement)
One more thing before I end off this post, I am currently working on the final work in my long-time Rock Dog fanfiction series “Mengcheng Dreaming” (On Wattpad and AO3), which is the 7th title in the series (and the penultimate work of the series). It’s titled “Zitti e Buoni” and is a novella crossover between Rock Dog, Spycies and the video game Hitman 3. I am currently at the second last chapter, so hopefully I can get it done by the end of the year so that I can publish it as soon as I can.
Right, that would be all for now. I will see you on the next adventure. Until then, k thanks bye!
